Mike Lazorwitz, Superhero
Un film de Jean-Luc Dupin
(2004)

Writer/Director: Mike Lazorwitz (credited as Jean-Luc Dupin)

Cast (in order of appearance):

  • Mike Lazorwitz (Himself)

This French-language short, made at Ithaca College in the spring of 2004, marked the debut of Mike Lazorwitz' elderly, French New Wave alter ego, Jean-Luc Dupin, who "directed" the piece. It introduces us to Mike Lazorwitz, the unassuming superhero of Ithaca, and his daring deeds and derring-do. The power of his fluorescent orange jacket makes him a force to be reckoned with.

Trivia:

  • Mike Lazorwitz is not actually a superhero, even if he does have an alter ego in Dupin. The "flying" shots seen in that video clip were done using low camera angles and with some help from the wind.
  • The video clip contains yet another song "used without permission" in a Waste of Time production. This time it's the Kinks' 1979 disco-friendly number "(Wish I Could Fly Like) Superman" (albeit the shorter album version rather than the truly disco-friendly dance mix).
